Nintendo have announced some details about the latest Wii update. The press release has more information, but a quick summary is as follows:

Available now, Wii Shop Channel has a new gift feature which allows you to send a Virtual Console game or Wii software to a friend as a present.

Also available now on Virtual Console is Pokémon Snap. In Pokémon Snap, you can capture Pokémon not with a Poké Ball but with a camera!
...
A new version of the Photo Channel is also available. This version is free to download simply by visiting the Wii Software section.

haha holy s***... I just got to 12 I think. I find it a bit addictive, but I still don't really enjoy playing it that much.

yeah, billy some of the levels are a bit blah, but some are awesome.

i love the levels that have the change of gravity direction in them. love it.

The Photo channel update also removes MP3 playback and replaces it with AAC. Not that anyone really uses the Wii to play MP3s, but I figured I'd throw that bit of info out there just in case.

I just realised that your lives don't get f***ing saved... wtf??? Srsly. I had over 20 (having not died once because the game is such a piece of piss) then just played it then and had 3 or 4 or something... LAME

I think I'm up to 20 stars now. I think I'm playing it still hoping it will get more fun...

I end up with about 20 lives after an hour of gameplay anyway. Lives have always been reset in Mario games, mainly because if they weren't, most players would probably end up with hundreds of them.
