Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War - Dark Crusade
vs
The Operational Art Of War II: Modern Battles 1956-2000

That's pretty close (google is my friend).

god damn it. In this day and age why on earth do game makers not include widescreen resolutions RARRGGG. :( Anyone know how to make the demo run custom resolutions? (specifically 1680x1050) The method used for the previous dawn of war game did now work.

Not a chance, the winner goes to The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-Earth 2 - The Rise of the Witch King.

According to the developers, the constraints of the engine would really limit the power of tyranids. However, expect that they fix that in the sequel :)

It’s an ancient engine. Dawn of War 2 is being worked on now, I’d imagine that they fix up those things there.

It was released in september 2004, but IIRC it was on a redeveloped platform.

They should just make a 40k mod for TA with all the units in it.

The crappy unit cap makes me sad :(

In competition it's pretty rare to be really effected by the unit cap. Of course, most games are over in <15 minutes.

Before the eldar nerf most of my 1v1 matches where over in about 11 minutes unless the guy was really good. If they went past 15 minutes I was probably going to die horribly any second.

Yeah true, the maps aren't terribly large either so there isn't usually alot of time for buildup in a comp. It sure would be cool to have a full army instead of a battalion worth on the field though.

hurry up 2007 i'm waiting for you :(
