Microsoft have announced that they've scored the exclusive rights to have two of the biggest soccer titles for the Xbox 360 for 12 months.

"Xbox 360 owns football," said David McLean, Regional Director, Xbox, Australia and New Zealand. "We have become the home of the beautiful game. This is a yet another major coup for us and fantastic news for football fans and gamers alike. Xbox 360 is the only place you can play football in high definition. It is proof that Xbox 360 continues to attract the best titles and demonstrates our commitment to bringing the greatest and most expansive line-up of games to our next-generation platform."

Apparently the games will still be available on the PlayStation 2, but not the PlayStation 3 - which is a little bit of a blow for the PlayStation 3 lineup, but as the PS2 is still somewhat widely dispersed around the globe it probably will still spread fairly well on that platform.

Atari Australia have sent us through some screenshots of Pro Evolution 6 on the Xbox 360 - it looks like a fairly simple port from the PlayStation 2 version though with no significant increase in visual quality. However, Pro Evo is basically the best soccer game you're going to play, so it's still definitely a title you're going to want.

I'm currently satisfied with my copy of FIFA World Cup 2006 on the pc with the microsoft hand controller (thanx tuffnut).

Gotta love Global challenge mode.
