The latest SitRep on the official America's Army website indicates that the US Army is taking their free game to the next level with the inclusion of cooperative play in the next version:
To date, America's Army has been singularly focused upon objective-based, multiplayer gameplay in missions set against a balanced human enemy. With Overmatch, we'll debut two new missions that will pit Rangers and Special Forces against an overwhelming force of Enemy AI Soldiers and Vehicles. Rather than presenting players with the one-to-one odds, as is customary in our current missions, these two new levels represent asymmetric conflict; wherein the enemy outnumbers the U.S. forces by upwards of three-, four- and even five-to-one! The new AI enemy represents a more organized military force than the insurgency/terrorist antagonists of our multiplayer missions.
The SitRep also includes some details about the AI and why they think it is going to be quite impressive.

If you haven't checked out America's Army yet, you should definitely do so. The US Army have put a lot of time and effort into it and have developed a game that rivals many commercial titles. The inclusion of coop will be a great addition to an already impressive feature list.

w00t! Maybe the coop missions will drag me away from the Border map :p

I heard in the next patch they're removing the training requirement to play the game :(( ... we're going to get a flood of CS tards.

! Boo!

That is one of the best things, the tard filter. That said, it'd probably be worth doing when they have a new version release for a week or so to give people a chance to get directly into the game - though I'd argue that part of the game is completing the training anyway.

I'd enjoy the training missions alot more if you didnt have to sit around and listen to the army dudes babble about stuff that I have no interest in. If you could skip the dialog and compleate each training course that'd be fine with me.

I wish they would spend more time making the game more hack proof. Its seems like there are cheats on every bloody night and its so damn annoying. Bloody punk buster does nothing at all to stop the cheating tards.

A mate of mine and I play most nights on the official US W servers (border) if you want to join us.

How come you don't play on local servers, out of interest?

I think its just becuase we get stuck into the new maps rather then play a bunch of maps on rotation. I havent checked in ages, do you have any dedicated map servers like boarder? If so, it would be great to play with a nice low ping.

Hell yeah....just filter by Australia. There are at least 3 servers which always have Border running. It is basically the only map I play now :)
