Activision send word of the teaser trailer for the upcoming Transformers movie, which you can check out on the official site. As with most teasers its basically useless, but asifnt be excited about it anyway. There is basically no information available about the video game conversion from the movie just yet, but Activision were pretty excited about it at E3, so hopefully it will be a good conversion.

I just hate it that we have to wait a year for it, I really think thats to long to start advertising movies.

Millions of movies put out teasers over a year before the movie is due out. Start the hype now yo.
Also I think Michael Bay is a good choice of director for this kinda action blockbuster. Cant wait!

Although I liked the cartoon as a kid I really think to myself when they start making movies of something like this they are really scraping the barrel of the gravy train remakes...

Heat was by Michael Mann, hence awesomeness. I'm still looking forward to seeing what Bay does with this and the most awesome toy of the 80s being introduced to a new generation is a good thing.

H.E.A.T has had the best bank scenes in a movie that I've ever seen. the story line was ok, but the bank scenes are worth watching it.

Megatron is an alien jet. Bumblebee is a Camaro sports car. It bears almost no resemblance to the source material barring the fact they're robots that transform.

This is gonna wind up just like LXG. Something that took a cool licence and just screwed it over by changing everything that made it great in the first place.

doesnt matter to me if they are different. a giant gun just wouldnt work well in a real life movie imo. im just happy theres gonna be a freaken transformers movie.

I saw a great post about the photos of optimus prime somewhere saying that the photos have been "removed from the Internet" by paramount. I thought that was hilarious.

If they were gonna make it with the real original vehicles I guess they would have to make the whole movie retro, which would be very camp indeed. There's no way it could look like the classic without being a joke:(

You could do it easily.

Modern versions of the old cars would still do fine. Most, if not all, Transformers would look largely identical, especially in robot mode, since most of the vehicles used are either still in use (F-15s) or have updated models or modern equivalents that still look similar. Jazz, Bumblebee, Sideswipe, Sunstreaker, the Decepticon jets, Prime, Magnus...s***, pretty much everyone.
