For creating like 2 s***ty iterative series? Where are the japanese developers? One of these days, you're gonna say something positive about something, and I'm gonna fall off my chair. |

I don't know if any of you have played civilization. It's a pretty good series, don't get me wrong (I know I said s***ty, but it was kneejerk), but it's just a good concept and implementation that gets expanded upon little by little with each version. Apart from that, what has he made? Pirates is about the only other thing of note. The designers behind most popular games series have just as much under their belts as him.
Compared to greats like Yasumi Matsuno, Miyamoto & Hideo Kojima he isn't much. |

Civilisation was one of the games that made the PC a viable "games" machine all those years ago. Civ was the only thing people played. The level of detail at the time was unsurpassed. The latest Civ is possibly one of the best games ever made.
Of course, Doom and Wolfenstien probably helped a bit :) But Civ came before they did. |

Civ might not be for you personally but its wide appeal and place in gaming history is hard to question. Civ IV is pretty much made completely out of awesome as far as I could tell.

It's a good time for a new mechwarrior game.... one where you can jump out of your mech, suit up in elemental armor/battle suits, run around in first person mode interacting with the battletech universe, etc. Mind you, even if they just made one with realistic damage, I'd be happy with it. They haven't made a mechwarrior game yet where a single rocket can eat through your viewplate and kill you, or a rocket from an infantry mounted inferno srm launcher can bake you and your mech alive, or even implemented landmines properly.
The technology is around, and so many games have rather good vehicle support nowadays... just need a kickass developer/publisher to pick up the license (like thats gonna happen though :() A story driven RPG set in the battletech universe would pretty cool even. |
