Saw this article over on Gamespot about official pricing for the XBox 360. Theres two versions, the XBox 360 Core System which will cost $299 US and the full XBox 360 which will cost $399 US. The two bundles are:
Xbox 360 Core System - $299 (299 Euros, 209 GBP) Theres also a range of accessories that will be available including wireless networking kits, extra wireless controllers, different faceplates and 64mb memory cards. Still no solid release date (just "this holiday season"), and its anyones guess when we'll get it here and how much it'll cost (I'm betting at least $650 - $700 for the full system). Penny-Arcade also have had their always-funny say on the pricing issue too. |

I hope this xbox 360 goes down the toilet, never been a big fan. Wouldn't its success help competition and drive down the price of another console that you like? :) |

I hope it rocks, otherwise whats the alternative? Wait till 2007 for a PS3?
According to that article, apparently Microsoft has been telling developers to code games that will work with or without the hard drive. But then, if they do that, you have to wonder what the point of having a 20 gig removeable hard drive even is. |

I'd heard from a couple of sources (aka stores who'd been told by distributors) that the Australian release date wasn't going to be until March next year? Which if true, sucks for anyone wanting to get a piece of the 360 action at the same time everyone else will be getting it...

Go outside? Nah, the glare on the screen gets too bad when you're outside. But yeah, I heard the March 2006 date thrown around for XBox 360 here as well, that made me sad :( I'd so be importing one if I had any money, maybe I can convince my brother to do that :P ^^ man i hope not, might as well wait for ps2 then :( Not really, 2007 is the rumoured date for PS3 now, and then you'll prolly still need to wait for it to filter down to here anyway. Agreed on your second point though, even though I reserve the right to give plenty of s*** to Sony and their George Foreman PS3, I'm sure I'll end up buying one when they come out anyway. last edited by Khel at 14:50:44 20/Aug/05 |

OH NO BUT REVOLTIONS IS ONLY LIKE 2/3 TIMES MORE POWERFUL THAN THE GAYCUBE!111 Yes, when has that stopped Nintendo making great games? The Xbox is like what Goastcx is to the internet, a huge abyss of evil. Edit: Yeah... I am a Nintendo Fanboy. last edited by Greazy at 15:32:34 20/Aug/05 |

remeber what kutaragi said about ps3: It wont be affordable for households. Lol
If it keeps the tech that sony is spouting they reckon theyll have in it, it will be launching with at least a 500 USD price point. In revo news, nintendo is set to announce new stuff in the next week :D |

no its not. plz provide a source. Here I did say it was just rumoured, but it still doesn't bode well. Either way, even if the date doesn't slip, end of 2006 in America still probably means halfway through 2007 here. |

Revolution+PS3 for life, probably. The PS2 and the Gamecube are imo the best two consoles to get if you want to enjoy this generation, so I'm guessing it'll be the same for the next.
coz the old xbox is godhttp://www.tin-ear.net/blog/archives/graphics/halo2/halo2.jpg Even they laugh at this |

hashy, i'm not trying to get you riled up here, but how can technically inferior pieces of equipment with worse control systems (esp. gamecube) be better consoles?
if you wouldn't mind, please list you reasons. |

be better consoles? The gamecube, for instance, is not a better console. It just has a f***ing fantastic 1st/2nd and exclusive 3rd-party software lineup. id like to see a ps2 or a game cube serve me up my media like my xbox isA modded PS2 actually CAN stream media from a network device and with an added hard-drive, it can play it from it too. I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if the gamecube wasn't also capable of this, as it can play games from a network device. last edited by Hashy at 22:39:04 20/Aug/05 |

Yeah, I'd heard the Nov 5th and 24th dates, but that article mentions a simultaneous release for North America, Europe and Japan, so who knows what to believe.
When you say "we" who do you mean exactly? Do you work for Microsoft? |
