VE asked ozisoft about the recent announcements of prices cuts for the Dreamcast in both America and the UK, to see if this cut would be carried accross to Australia as well, ozisoft had this to say: ...the DC price drop it is highly unlikely consumers will receive a price drop as we have already been selling the console way below our buy price which now with the lower cost of goods we may be able to make a small margin with the price cut in the UK. At $299, OziSoft were selling the console at a loss... so we decided to drop the price in order to maximise in software sales. Now remember that ozisoft is mearly a distributor for Sega in Australia, therefor have a specific buy price, so if they are selling at a loss, then that loss effects them not sega, I guess this goes to explaining the reason why everyone is saying it is nearly impossible to buy a Dreamcast in Aus. |
