Brisbanes latest in Game centers, Cybergames, located at the Sunnybank Plaza have announced that they are holding a sixteen team CS comp with a first prize of $1000.

This is excellent, well worth it for all you crack CS teams here in brisbane, should make for some intresting games at least.

The computer specs are pretty impressive also, and should see you playing CS in the style you are used to:

Looks like they have 2 pretty weird rules...
First up: No bunnyhopping allowed. Despite the fact that this is hardly cheating (unless you consider similar moves in the Quake games cheating as well), it can be disabled on the server easily enough.
Secondly and of more concern to those plaing...Team members are only allowed to communicate via the radio messages and the ingame text messages? wtf!?
It's a LAN ffs! what teams don't talk amongst themselves during a game?! I imagine this rule has been added in to stop people talking when they die so as not to give out clues about where the enemy is...But it's also stopping them from talking (which is way more natural than using the messages) when they're still alive as well. sheesh. Why have it at a lan at all if you're going to remove that important part of LAN team games?

FJ are too gay. Except for Gibbo, only let him go, I think the rest need to stay away. My money is on LS/SAS/FTC. The rest are probably local SK clans who've never seen real competition in their life.

Sorry about the confusion to do with the rules. Bunnyhopping is not allowed in this comp but may be allowed in future comps at Cybergames. Talking between teammates is allowed only when you are alive. It looks like its going to shape up to be an awesome comp with lots of new clans experiencing real competition for the first time. Could be some real upsets.

[SAS]Sgt.Strex told me in an earlir email that SAS will be in the comp but that was 5 days ago. Strex hasn't replied to my recent emails yet to confirm if the teams is in or not. Can someone in SAS tell me very soon if the team is in or not?

Looks like there's shaping up to be some decent competition after all. Is there a second prize? There should be. I'd SAS to walk away empty handed. :(

But seriously - SAS should get their act together - they seemed to be registered, yet no one I've seen says they are competing... And there are two hybrid clans which of at least contain one SAS member! I don't wanna see any issues when it comes to the day, that's all.

What we *will* see is some awesome competition.

Is it via a points system, that takes everything into account?
Or is it watched by an admin, and he decides?
Or is it by kills? Or kills/ratio?

Alright, I apologise for not making it clear where SAS stands in this competition. I do have my reasons though, I am not just being slack :P

I am working the night shift at my work (2300-0700hrs) next weekend including Friday night. So that leaves me virtually incapable of playing CS until atleast 1500hrs. I originally was going to cancel SAS from going, but this seems like it is going to be a great comp so I will make the effort and deprive myself from any sleep whatsoever.

Just to confirm:

I will be there.
and most importantly..
My $300 Sony Headphones will be there.

Team FJ is the first team on the waiting list if any other teams pull out. There are two teams on the waiting list.
The draw may change if any teams merge or pull out..etc.
Teams will play one match on Saturday. Teams may have to play up to 3 matches on Sunday depending on if they progress through the rounds.

Stats will be recorded for all the matches using Psychostats version 1.3. The player at the end of the comp with the highest skill points as determined by Psychostats 1.3 will be rewarded with the best player of the comp award. Because verybody starts at 1000 skill points the player with the best kill:death ratio will probably have the highest skill points.

Gen you'd have to be able to hit things you aimed at before people would suggest u used an aimbot :P

The " " " Hybrid Clan " " " (which is basically a normal clan + me...Gee pretty big mix eh?) Doesnt actually include me. It is some of my friends from school who I said I would play with before I knew SAS were entering. I WONT be playing for them, so there's no need to worry about that.

These are new amendments to the rules for the comp:

No configuration files are allowed. You must use the ingame GUI to configure your controls. The console may only be accessed before the match to configure buy scripts and bind team_say commands but only in the presence of a tournament referee. Any players accessing the console during the match will incur a rule infringement.
Any infringement of the rules will incur an initial verbal warning. Any further infringements will incur a round loss for the team.

Hahahah Jerds, we'll see who's best on the day. Cant wait!

I think that rule is fare about the console. One other question i have is what are the rules about grenade spamming, i won't be there ne way but i no that on prodigy gren spamming is many teams tatics. Please monitor this because a gren spam alias bind takes about 10 seconds to write from the console
