The retail version of CS does not have de_nuke among other maps and the server doesnt seem to send the map.

Is there anywhere I can get the missing maps?

Well, I guess your screwed. As far as I know there isn't any site with the maps available for download. Either get it from a friend or as mentioned above, download CS V1.0

Bah, that'll learn ya to take the easy way out and BUY it :).

P.S. Make sure you type (without quotes) "cl_allowdownload 0". It should download, why its not I can't explain but if you connect to a server that is running the map, it should download and should take around 15 to 20 minutes.

just search for a cs map site on altavista, there are plenty of them and they have ALL maps plus heaps of others

Barak, are they _legally_ allowed to distribute the maps individually? The only maps you are likely to find would be third-party maps, not official CS ones. Then again, I may be wrong :).

No, my point is that there may be some sort of legal stuff saying you can't distribute CS without including all of its files.

and you can get em at www.counter-strike.de

Regardless whether its legal or not I stumbled across it at FilePlanet - so if anyone is in the same situation get it from there.

I bought it because I dont own Halflife and CS retail runs on its own. All I miss out on is single player (big deal) and a few standard maps (go figure) :)

{update} Its the right map - it now complains about a file called jos.wad not being present (which is true) and I can't find it anywhere. I give up, buy the bloody thing you'd expect it to be complete :(

Umm how much was CS stand alone? I'm not sure on this, but I think the Half-Life is around $49.95, so the way I figure it, you're better off buying original halflife, getting singleplayer and then downloading CS. Half-Life original also includes a few things like TFC and stuff.

I paid $50 deliviered from an online retailer for CS Retail. HL was $65 when I priced at at Electronics Boutique and then Id be lucky to get it, apparently there was a stock shortage a few weeks ago - not sure now, but it just couldn't be found anywhere.

Retail also includes TFC, Firearms, Opposing Force, Redemption and Wanted mods.

This is due to stupid valve.

They only bought the maps they packaged, f***ed over the other mappers, and all other maps such as de_nuke are only able to gotten in the downloadable version.

Stupid Valve f***ing up cs in an attempt for money.

asif you'd actually keep the tfc folder after you install the halflife patches

which ppl bought the disc so they didn't have to d/l stuff
