Natural Selection 2 just won ModDB's Indie Game of the Year!

There you'll see the first game footage of the skulk, marine, gorge, command station, the sentry and a marine base chock full of marine toys.

Despite my love for Unreal Worlds/NS1/NS2: I have mised feeling about mods winning 'game of the year' and also 'unreleased' things competing with released things.

Still, I'm really looking forward to this game and hope they deliver on their roadmap!

Yeah that's gotta be harsh on the guys that have actually shipped working software. Maybe it should have won indie game of 2011?!

Is this a sequel to that HL mod where you could be an insect?

Yeah, seems a bit s*** to give it to something unreleased.

+1

Was World of Goo last year? Or was that 2008? Also been playing a bit of Machinarium lately, thats pretty cool too.

Awarding a title to an unreleased game? Joke award, should be laughed at from this time forward.

That's what I thought, how can you give an unreleased game an award? Would be like if Duke Nukem Forever won game of the year.

I would have thought you would have to be an actual game to qualify, rather than a tech video or other pre-release asset. Otherwise you could have something like Duke Nukem Forever winning game of the year awards for decades.

Yeah fairly hilarious award. Also I made a thread about this a few days ago now.
