A press release from EA notes the impressive milestone of 100 million units of The Sims sold: Fun facts to note: if 100 million boxes of The Sims were lined up end-to-end, they would stretch from New York City to Moscow. And, with 100 million sold, one out of seven homes in Europe and one out of three homes in America would have a product from The Sims franchise.Yikes. |

That's how you roll when you make a game that appears to the other 50% of the planet

My wife has about eight... starting from The Sims + expansion packs then The Sims 2 plus five expansion packs. It's insidious. Blizzard should sue for all the market share that isn't paying a monthly fee!

Good luck to them, it's an impressive franchise. My daughters play it to death every couple of months and it gets a revival. They spend more time building their houses and redecorating than actually simulating anything as far as I can tell. Every time I play it I get the s***s with it and remove the doors and watch them wet themselves and die of starvation.
Actually, one of the funniest things I've seen in a game was Sims 2. I did the removing doors thing while sim falls asleep watching TV in bed. He gets up in the morning and I fast forward through his anguish as he wets the floor and yells at me for food. Eventually he dies and death comes to collect him, but before he does, he kicks back on the bed and starts watching TV. I rofled... |

If it allows them to pump more funds into making Spore, I say for the greater good.
I tried out the original sims for about an hour, found it boring as f**k, went back to Sim City 3000. last edited by Nailbomb at 00:05:07 18/Apr/08 |
