Hey boys and hunter(the only girl)

Plague is over here and we are lanning.. he has a very sexy Sony Montior.. 17" Flat Screen.

I am looking for a FLAT screen.. nothing about it.. must be flat.
Around the 17 - 19" .. i would love the 19
I would like a trinitron tube.

But ofcorse .. i dont want to pay for it..

whats the best one for price and quality ??

I'd say a 19" Sony Trinitron would be the way to go...

nope. screw the expense, go the Sony. seriously, how often are you going to have to buy a new one? Its an investment. Better buy than a new gfx card, i say....

But then thats just me. *hugs trinitron* :)

Don't forget that when you go with a trinitron you get 'the lines'... bothers some people so may be worth checking in to before forking out lots of money for what you may consider to be defective goods.

LCD blows goats.

The "lines" are found on all trinitron-esque monitors (ie Mitsubishi Diamondtron, LG Flatron, Sony Trinitron) theyre two thin wires that hold up a grille behind the glass. You only really notice them on a static bright background, say, in MS Word, where they look sort of like very faint page break lines...

Trust me, I worried about them when choosing a Sony, but theyre nothing. To be honest, id forgotten about them until they were bought up just now...

decimate, it's probably the same s*** monitors that have been there before....wanna know why so cheap? FIXED FREQUENCY that's right, and the f***er is they're fixed at 60Hz hahahahahah sux0r that s***z0r

edit: I disagree, they had those line things on the monitors at TAFE, I noticed them every damn time I saw them. I'm weird that way, I'll notice some little thing and never forget it's there, it'll be invisible till I see it, then it's all I'll see.

Like my 15" osborne, it's got some little chip in it, I hadn't seen it till one day I noticed it, then it stuck there, I saw it every time I played quake, every time I wrote something on notepad. If I have a monitor it's gotta be line free, especially if I'm paying big bucks for the best, f*** having ghey lines on it that look like screen burn.

Samsung 753DF is cheap, flat, and looks really good. Compromises by not being able to do in excess of 1280x1024.....but then, most people don't want higher than that for a 17".
