Anyone know where I can find an engine for a Chrysler/Mitsubishi Sigma/Scorpion?

Preferably the 2.6lt 5 speed I have tried wreckers around my area and none of them have anything at all I just need the engine without the gearbox.

trading post?
wreckers won't sell em cos they're too old and generally used for teaching mechanical crap
wreckers would have to sell em for $200+ to make it worth their while and when you can buy a sigma for a carton you don't bother

Have seen them at the wreckers ages ago but they were asking around $500 for them and the trading post is so overpriced they want $3k for a used car.

Is this the Astron II 2.6? My dad had a couple laying around the house while I was driving an old Magna, if it's one of those I'll call him and see if he held on to any.

i got mine from under a tarp in a paddock (zero dollars).

also, there are different versions. the auto has a different dowel spacing than the manual, also the sumps are different depending on where the motor came from. pajero and scorpion are the same, but they have different distributors and you can't use a magna engine at all in a rwd car too much s*** is different. make sure you buy the right version.

you'd be better off just buying some old VH or something

Have you tried popping the bonnet? It's usually there. Unless it's a mid-engine or rear-engine car.

Just don't get one from the importers on kingston road corer of moss & kingston. I got a 4age from them, I asked them if it had been tested and the guy said it had. When I got it home I couldn't get the starter motor to work so I doubt they'd tested anything, the valley thing where the spark plugs are was full of water and the entire engine looked like it had been sitting at the bottom of the ocean for a month. That engine was definitely NOT tested in any way what so ever. In the end I took it back because there was evidence of blown rings after it had been pulled down.
