Yeah someone is trying to get everyone to delete their MySpace profiles on the same day
http://mashable.com/2008/01/21/delete-your-myspace-account-day/

Frankly I think it's a fine idea, and will encourage myspace users to end it.

Bf and I tried to delete our myspace accounts ages ago, but when you go to delete your account it says you have to confirm this in an email they're supposed to send out to you. Only they never sent either of us the email. Facebook's a lot better. Less posers with their token mirror shots

Well I suppose you could still delete all your friends and blank your profile

This is true. It's on private at least so i don't get spammed anymore by 40 year old frenchmen or us navy seals asking me to give them a "tour" around australia

Myspace and YouTube are both nouns in the dictionary so the grammar is fine.

It is arguably incorrect to "photoshop an image" or to "check your gmail" but these are things people say and the latin grammar nazis need to accept that we have a living language that is changing rapidly because of our new forms of communication and the way we express ideas!

Yeah, each of which has become an acceptable verb or common noun. "MySpace" is a proper noun though, so using it as a common noun just makes no sense. To say "MySpace page" would make more sense, though that it's a collection of pages defeats this.

Are we clear that I put too much time and effort into worrying about things like this? :)

I think it would be better if they deleted the people who had a MySpace Account. It always amazes me people wanting to glorify themselves or at least exhibit themselves on the net. Seems a lot like mindless attention seeking for the dim witted.
