Topic: Do you laugh at geeky things?

I walked past a geeky looking fat bloke today and he was wearing a "There are 10 types of people in this world..." t-shirt. I couldn't help but giggle.

Do you giggle or are you someone who acts all "I am SO not a nerd" when in public?

When I see people like that I'm glad that I get the jokes, and also glad that I'm not wearing the T-shirt.

I dont consider myself a nerd, however im an otaku. Also I dont seem to get many of the geek shirts. I especialy dont understand that 10 types of people thing. I'm usualy thinking "wow, why would you wear something like that?"

Yeah, I laugh. Not obviously, but I usually smirk or something (provided that it's actually funny).

He doesn't seem like a nerd. More like a pretentious dick head.

i have a "meh" shirt, and a PA Fruit f***er shirt that I often wear, but those aren't geek humour. The FF shirt got a chuckle from a guy at Umart one day.

I laugh at geeks not what they do but whom they are.

Besides that I have a Stiff Little Fingers t-shirt with a hand giving the forks on the front. All black. Got it in my younger punk days in the late 70's. The looks I got when wearing it with a holey pair of jeans, bovva boots, safety pin in the ear and radical haircut with multiple colours was absolute hilarious, especially walking down Queen Street before the mall in those days. It was an absolute cracker.

I spose I should mention my nerdy doom shirt that I made for when I went to the eGames conference in melbourne a couple months ago. I wasn't going to put my nick on it originally but I was planning on meeting a bunch of guys IRL that I'd never seen before so I thought it would help if I was clearly labeled:

I stopped wearing my 'Click here to see me naked' shirt because of the people that would comment on it or press on my chest.

It seemed to be a man & fuggly magnet. not one even mildly attractive woman ever made a comment.

My 'I support gay marriage if both chicks are hot' would get looks & giggles, but that's a different non-nerd market.

I think the geekiest ones I own are the ones I made myself: one with Johnny Drama yelling "VICTORY!" and the other which is a fkn awesome "James Cameron's Aquaman" shirt I designed.
