Microsoft recently gave AusGamers preview code of their forthcoming exclusive Japanese RPG, Lost Odyssey. From Mistwalker, a development studio headed up by Hironobu Sakaguchi, the creator of Final Fantasy, Lost Odyssey whisks players into a fully realised and beautful fantasy world with epic battles, monsters, technology and magic.

From the preview:

"the game is heavily story-driven with epic cut-scenes running both off the game’s engine and as pre-rendered CG sequences. The main engine, which is actually using Unreal technology, is among the best seen in this genre. Depth of field blurring goes a long way to realising the cinematic scope and tone of the adventure, while the excellent textures and NPC bustle bring Lost Odyssey to life..."

Did you notice any performance hits or slowdown? The jap version got bagged in some reviews for grinding down to a halt in parts and generally performing like a dog.

Yes, but japanese are freaky genetic mutant humans that see at 80frames per second compared to our 30.

How else do you think they are super-human at acrade and dance machines :P

Also, it looks decent enough.. might just grab it, if I can ever find time to play an story driven game these days :|

Actually Term after 10 years I have ended my involvement with the wharf and MUA. I now work making pipes that are going to our great states new water pipe lines.

Sorry trog I'll get back on topic. Yeah this game looks nice but I don't have a 360 so I guess I won't be playing it anytime soon.
