As promised 3D Realms have released the 3rd trailer for Duke Nukem Forever, a new teaser of the game in its current form. Download it locally from AusGamers in either 720p MOV or 720p WMV format.

In true teaser form it doesn't show a great deal, but the footage on offer is purportedly in-engine. No new details as to a release date (haha) or platform have yet been mentioned.

Well, it IS the era of ruining old franchises with awful remakes/sequels (Transformers), however, I really didn't think it looked that bad. Maybe people have been a bit spoilt lately with all the eye-candy, but aslong as 3d Realms stick to the basic Duke Nukem formula and actually release within the next 2 years, I'll be happy.

Looks ok, just a little on the plastic side. The shots of Duke seriously remind of my the cut scene with Sarge in Quake3. One of the things thats going to make the game will be the level of interactively which duke3d pwned at back in the day over all other games. I have this feeling that with all the negative comments that are more than likely accumulating on the interweb about this teaser, broussard is going to go smack his team over their heads and tell them to do it again. So after the game is completely redone again and on a new engine we might see another new teaser in maybe 2015.

From the forum post that I read yesterday it sounds like this is just something that some dudes were working on in their spare time for internal use? At least that was the impression I got. It's a pretty neat trailer.

Sure, absolutely. If he's samrt enough to ignore them and keep going then he'd have to be smart enough to know that no matter whatever they release, no matter how good it is, not everyones going to like it. I'm not really that fussed about the graphics though uber graphics isn't a bad thing, badass duke gameplay is where it's at and unfortunately that teaser didn't show enough to really hint what it's going to be like.

Looked pretty s***, I hope the actual trailer that's supposed to be coming out in the near future looks a lot more impressive.

even if it was something that they created in their spare time, its still pretty s***ty. also if thats what the new engine looks like after all this time, then they should all be fired. it honestly didnt look any better than what prey or doom 3 did IMO.

eh, looked ok. Considering they threw this together for a last minute thing at a christmas party i wasn't expecting much. Here's hoping the real trailer george said they were releasing soon shows more gameplay.

I thought it looked OK. The sooner people realize this game will never live up to their own personal expectations, the better.

FPS's have become too serious over the years. Hopefully this will change things so we can all sit back and play a kick ass shooter.
