Its built in to the tv so it should be in the options in that then.

All the HD channels give me a line of coloured crud running along the bottom of the screen D:

Probably got something to do with my cheapo tuner hehe, my TV isn't 1080 anyway so I'm not too worried.

Ten HD difference for me, blacks look darker and colour quality in general looks a bit better, sound may have been a bit nicer... thats all I've really noticed.

The HD channels have been there for ages, but the shows weren't actually being broadcast in HD. They were screening the occasional movie in HD, but that was uncommon. From my understanding, they're now screening pretty much everything in HD, with 5.1 surround.

The only difference I can see is that it's now 5.1 surround, my tv tuner card has said "1080i" for ages now in CH10 HD's properties. So were they just upscaling it to 1080i before and now they're actually broadcasting 1080i encoded programs?

Ch7 has also had separate sd/hd programs on before. I was watching it one night and on the SD station they had stargate atlantis and on the HD one they had that 70's show. LOL @ stargate not being good enough for HD broadcast.

I'm pretty sure this is the case. The stuff they've had on there up until now was quite clearly not HD. I haven't checked it out today to see what it's like now, but yeah, they were just upscaling beforehand.

Well some of the news broadcasts and sports coverage was really clear on ten and then some of the other tv shows and sometimes movies were okay, but not as clear as their recordings.

has the new HD thing started yet? I'm watching ch D1 now and it still only says DD2.1ch sound, unless my tv tuner doesn't know what's going on.
