Clive Owen
Paul Giamatti
Monica Bellucci
A gritty, fast-paced action thriller, SHOOT 'EM UP kicks into high gear with a memorable opening scene and never relents. Clive Owen stars as Mr. Smith, a mysterious loner who teams up with an unlikely ally (Monica Belluci) to protect a newborn baby from a determined criminal (Paul Giamatti) who hunts them throughout the bowels of the city.

Damn cool movie with great action scenes and horrible dialogue. Sorta reminded me of Crank and Payback with lots of over the top killing and stupid/corny one-liners. Highly recommend this if you're after a no-brainer action flick. Also, Paul Giamatti is great in this, his script was so tacky but extremely cool at the same time.

I just finished watching this about 10 minutes ago. Was a great stereotypical action flick. The '5 shooter' in the fireplace was a stroke of brilliance!

i'll check it out cuz clive owen is awesome. Speaking of awesome clive owen movies, have you guys seen Children of Men? There's this scene in that movie which is like one continuous shot of him running through this building that is getting shelled by tanks. its one of the coolest scenes ever! I really dug the whole movie but man, that one scene was awesome

Man, this movie wins the award for one of the quickest introductions of plot and action. They seriously wasted no time getting into the mindless, over-the-top violence. Really funny stuff (the tea/coffee sipping bad guy, haha).

I give it 9/10 just for entertainment value. Don't even bother thinking nor analysing anything in the movie :)
have you guys seen Children of Men?

Yeah, bloody awesome movie. Awesome scene. Too bad it slipped under the radar for most people.

Children of Men is one of my favourites, that similarly shot scene where they're escaping from the rebels in the first half and bad things happen is first rate too.

The best part of the movie was the soundtrack

some serious BS in this movie, but it did the trick.

Holy crap!, Trog you were spot on about children of men, I avoided seeing it because people were giving it crap reviews but they were sooo very wrong.

That scene in the building was f***ing awesome, plus all the other shocking stuff that happens in it seems almost surreal in how almost commically real and depressing it is in parts where bad s*** happens and they have to move on so quickly they never get a chance to really think about what has happened to them.

Definately going on my favourites list.

Shoot em up is going to have to do something special now after that haha!
(comedy gun fighting movie... hmmm not likely)

Spoiler:
Nothing beats the part of him taking off his seat belt, ploughing head-on into that van of bad dudes, flying through the windscreen of his car, then through the windscreen of the van, and landing on his back in the back of the van, and then blowing them away from behind. Then saying something like "Who says seat belts saves lives"
