Came across an interesting site today. It's pretty basic in how it works, it throws a bunch of questions at you, regarding which ideas you like and dislike the sounds of, and relates them back to the policies proposed by the various parties. At the end, it give you an idea on what parties have policies most in line with the information you provided. I'm by no means saying that people should be using this to ultimately decide which way they should cast their vote, but after seeing all of the election talk on here lately, I figured that there'd be people here who'd be interested in checking it out. It's easy to use, and will only take about 5 minutes of your time. |

haha eat me. I thought they were the uber religious group?I dont even know what the f*** they stand for aside from seeming totally insane in every media source they appear :P How do you want to get your results? (via email or sms)ahaha what a f***ing scam. If that was truly for the benefit of the user they would display the results straight up... demanding one of the 2 main targets for advertising spam in exchange for the results of a quiz which covered the barest of topics which I pretty much found myself seeing labor/liberal instead of agree/disagree seems pretty dodgey to me. I am sure id be given liberal since I dislike unions. |

They do display the results straight up, just uncheck both of the boxes and click complete.
I got Family First as #1 as well, f***ing retarded. Labor was #2 though, so that's all good. Makes no sense though, I even said that the fags should have the same rights as everyone else, and it still put Family First in front. Aren't they ultra-conservative? |

pft, 4 out of the 7 candidates for my electorate haven't provided details, and the Labour candidate for our electorate has details provided only by the party. Of the three who have any details at all, Labour rates highest at 56%, followed by Greens at 51% and Dems at 43%. I don't know enough about CEC and LDP, so I'd be going Dem then Lib. f***ed if I'm going to help Labour get into power.

LOL Family First... wtf? Is that because I was neutral to most actual political issues? No surprise at all you got Family First, you gay-bashing forced-to-term creationism-spouting white supremacist :P haha eat me. I thought they were the uber religious group? Family First are what the Labour party was back in the early 1900s. They're an exreme, radical religious group, hiding behind the name "family" first. They stand for, basically, biblical literature as law. They basically support hate crime as law... oh, and if you know anyone who gets raped and ends up pregnant, even if attempting to carry a child to birth would be fatal, with these guys in power it's too bad for them. |

I think its broken... (that or I should vote labor) I put all the responses down to the exact liberal campaign and their policies as I am a stern liberal voter, and this is what I got:
I don't think so bevin, you just don't have the experience lol edit: Looks like my liberal MP hasn't filled in the quiz yet so his details aren't counted. phew! last edited by casa at 09:57:16 21/Nov/07 |

Right wing maybe, but extreme radical religious group supporting hate crime? Maybe read some of their policies before making such an extreme and radical statement. Btw i'm a labor supporter. |

not really any place for radical religion in politics. i don't really see family first as radical though.
i think it's good in australia how we don't have much religiously determined law, unlike the US which is in love with religion. |

Very gumby thing. The news.com.au is better (sort of)
Didn't have any of the issues I was concerned about as options for "main issues". eg. House affordability Social Infrastructure The libs haven't entered even a political party level response. So most libs aren't ever going to comeback as option. |

I'm (strongly) Greens then Labor for the news.com.au one vs Independent, Democrats, Greens then Labor for the howshouldivote.com.au quiz. Given I've always voted Greens I'd have to agree the news.com.au quiz reflects my thinking better.

Voting greens doesn't necessarily give them power, but voting for them first and then giving your preference to one of the big parties means that the big parties realise that you care about the environment and that if they want to keep your vote they should try and keep you happy anyway so you preference them next time.
Preferences very well explained here: http://www.oblong.net.au/preferences/ |
