my job sends me on a few IT short training courses a year, and i'm allowed to choose which ones i want.

i recently completed an ITIL course at dimension data and was pretty happy with the facilities and training there.

what are some other good training centers for 2-5 day IT courses? anyone gone to them? i'm thinking of doing some webdev stuff (php+mysql,ajax)...

jesus you're allowed to learn ajax on company time... there are thousands of jobless people out there who already know ajax, I would happily take UNPAID leave to be allowed to learn some new technology and i'm a freakin web developer...

I found the School of Hard Knocks to have excellent IT teaching facilities. It's just next to the School of Hard Cocks ... don't walk into the wrong faculty by mistake...

Who would willingly enter Web Design as a career?

Avanade, DiData & Data3 are probably the best bet for courses I'd say.. all depends what you want to learn though. You could do an RHCA/RHCE in 5-days from RedHat in Milton.

Sure stinky it was an accident ... you accidentally walked in to the school of hard cocks with a jar of vaso and some leather chaps.

Is there some course where you can send your IT boss to learn the basics of how IT Projects work...

I hear from some people who did ITIL that it was a complete wank.

I'm thinking of sending myself to some training next year, especially if I need to kill some taxable gross.

Is it worth it, even if just for the "I haves teh ITIL" on resume etc?

I've typically done my training through DiData and Microsoft.

Going by the ads on TV if you go to Excom you'll be an overpaid yuppie IT worker with a BMW in 6 months.

You'd be surprised what a freelance designer can earn. Plus they get up every morning, spend their day being creative and as such live generally stress-free.

For those designers employed in Web development or Ad agencies, the facilities offered to designers and other creative personnel make the sacrifice in pay worthwhile. Things like pool tables, game consoles and leisure time are all intangible benefits agency directors offer their employees in order for them to be functioning creative professionals.
