I know there are some Nissan Patrol fans lurking here so I'll ask. Will a GU 2003 Nissan Alloy Bar fit a GU 1998? Have trawled the web looking for an answer and the dealer I spoke to couldn't tell me but could sell me a new one to fit my car. I can pick up this bar pretty cheap but I want to make sure the mounts are correct for my 98 Patrol.

Call up ARB Southside or TJM. They should be able to answer your question.
One of my own though: Why an Alloy Bar? Steel (While heavier) provides alot more protection. So many alloy bars I've seen just bend/crumple while a steel hitting the same rock sufferes a little dent without hurting the Vehicle either. I've seen the after effects of a Roo onto an Alloy bar too... not pretty. While a Roo almost just bounces off a Steel Bar. |

I'd probably take an alloy for mostly city driving. Less weight and less chance of killing someone if you hit them.

My wife is the main driver of the car and it doesn't really go off road that much. Once I can convince her to get another car, I intend to goto work on the patrol and get it setup for 4WD. For now I just want to put something cheap on it that will protect it from basic run ins.

actually the petrol patrol models run well on LPG from what i've heard but that doesnt stop you from having a small child through the radiator like a bullbar does |

why put a f***en bar on it at all?
those things own soft objects. like people for instance. Im sure the undented grill will be of some consolation to the guy in the excel whos head is crushed. |
