Sup guys and girls, im doing a pc upgrade and want to know what you guys think of the following parts ... Im out of touch with what is not, and what is not. Not really going to be used for gaming at the moment, hence the onboard GFX Card required.

AMD ATHLON 64 4800+ DUEL CORE AM2 - $122
ASUS M2N-X - $79
KINGSTON PC5300 667MHZ DDR RAM 1G - $34
KINGSTON PC5300 667MHZ DDR RAM 1G - $34
Western Digital 320G SATAII 7200 rpm HDD(16Mb Cache) Instock $95.00

What case and psu do guys recommend?

I was looking at this one

Antec NSK6580 Solution Series ATX MiniTower Instock $138.00 It has a 430w psu with it

Cheers!

Not sure about recent technology but my old p3 had onboard graphics and it sucked even for just windows. So unless it's some geforce2go or ati mobility radeon or whatever they're called, it's most likely going to suck. Also I think they use ordinary ram for video ram which obviously is infinitely slower than video card ram.

Best to get a decent motherboard and a cheapass pci video card

Someone on here recommended tagen as the PSU brand and I got that, it seems fine so far.

The antec NSK mini towers are great nice and light, look good too. I put together a computer for my dad in one.

Intel for the CPU
Asus or Gigabyte for the Motherboard
G.skill or Geil for the RAM
Seasonic for the PSU

Seasonic for the PSU
Or Corsair, they're essentially re-badged Seasonic PSU's.

There's a whole Wikipedia page about PSU recommendations. More importantly it tells you the ones to steer clear from.

I doubt my current p4 1.7 with 512 mg rd ram could run much ...

Whole new pc is needed ...

Why are antec PSU's so bad? A while back everyone was raving about them

If you have ~$1300-1500 get a system with Q6600/8800GT/2GB Ram etc.

Their track record has slid downhill fast.
Most likely they became cocky and greedy like every other company that gains a little power and can't handle it.
