Topic: Cod4 MP or TF2?

Hi guys,

I'm looking to buy one of these two games. Tis for the MP so the single player part of CoD4 isn't a factor. My system can run both very well, so that too isn't a factor.

Which game do you think better? Which one would have the longest replay ability? Which one do you own, both or only one? If both, which one do you play most?

Go nutz!

I haven't played CoD4 MP but TF2 MP is much fun. They do need some new maps though.

Buy them on steam when the AU$ is up and you get them both for half what you would pay in a store, so buy them both :)

Buy them both on steam for 85 bucks. Yet to play cod4 MP but it would be hard to top TF2.

I also have played TF2 but not CoD4.

It is great fun, i played about 50 hours on it. A few weeks ago though I just got bored of it (probably due there being only 5 maps).

Without playing CoD4, i think i would still recommend TF2 just because it's different from your regular FPS. Also theres enough room for new players to get by ok as well as skilled players being able to pwn.

O yer, I was gunna buy it over steam to save $$$$'s

Also ET:QW is kinda boring after a little bit.

I'm a bit iffy on TF2 having few maps. Also skill lvl doesn't matter cause I'll pwn it anyway ;P

I've seen that a few people have played TF2 for awhile then suddenly get bored of it. How is the QGL team going?

Theres still heaps of gameplay. You still have to play quite a while until you are aware of how each map plays and its intricacies.

Also are you getting the Orange box? HL2: Episode 2 is worth a play through, and Portal is one of the most enjoyable games I've ever played.

Good. Scout rushes pose no problem to our impenetrable engineer defense.

TF2 easily, I find you can jump into it really quickly and find a class to suit your mood, have a quick game, or usually it ends up being "just one more round" til 2 in the morning.

The best games I find though are the hard fought ones, if you're owning the other team or if they're owning you it's nowhere near is fun as a hard pitched battle back and forth.

Hahaha. Funny bugga.

Also, COD4 and TF2 are very different games. You cant compare the game play. I'm be getting COD4 at some point.

they're both fun and pretty different games.. tf2 it's heaps fun taking a soldier and running around healing or just double jumping through maps on ctf.. but cod4 is also fun in a different way.. but i find tf2 better cause less spammy

COD4 MP has more depth IMO than TF2, although TF2 is alot of fun also. COD4 single player is really f***ing good and IMO you should think about it. Really you should just get both since the holidays are long and money is cheap :P

I personally think alot of the boredom with TF2 does come from the maps. GA has what, 4 dedicated 2fort servers? zzzzzzzzzz 2fort is a great map for wars, but in pubs it gets boring quickly. Needs more Zone control maps, where people are sort of forced to get on with the game.

TF2 bored me after about ten f***ing minutes
GA has what, 4 dedicated 2fort servers? zzzzzzzzzz
and they're full all the f***ing time like de_dust servers? zzzzzzzzz.

I'd rule out COD4 because IW don't release an SDK. I'd rule out TF2 because it doesn't have a demo. I haven't tried ETQW yet but I'd lean towards that because I think it has the most long-term prospects (assuming id and Splash aren't dicks about it and are going to release an SDK to get the mod community pumping).

I got over ETQW well before the beta had ended. So glad I didn't buy it.
