There's a new patch for World of Warcraft; if you're into it you can snag it locally right here.

Maybe that's what this patch is? I don't know how to tell the difference. Can someone confirm?

So glad the rogues poison buff now lasts 1 hour instead of that pissy 30 minutes. Lots of nice stuff they've added into this as well.

Just use the Blizz download thingy. Only take a few minutes to get it.

Last time i checked though this was Queensland Gamers League forums. not sure where the GA part comes into this forum.

Any way patch looks nice 281 Mb though. at least the Ausgamers hosting is fast unlike Blizzards.

Thanks guys!

I think that "Not tonight, we're running a raid" might be one excuse worse to hear than "Not tonight, I have a headache".

nah i haven't been activated since half way thru september, i went to moreton for a week, ran out of time over there, and just cbf'd.

and i was in between guilds, my work hours ( tradey) are like 530 - 4ish.

try finding a guild that starts raids at like 4-5 and stops at 8-9

theres about 3 game wide, lol.

so y3 im boned, gg exi, gg

It's why I gave up on raids a long time ago, all the guilds capable of raiding do it at stupid hours that aren't suitable to people that have a job/partners/children/lives/etc.

Now I just enjoy WoW for the heroic's and arena's.

I run with an aussie group that invites at 6:30, starts at 7, wraps up at 10:30. Not too bad and its only 2 nights a week

Burning Crusade raiding is heaps better than it was in vanilla.

We clear Mount Hyjal and 1 or 2 bosses in Black Temple wendesday nights, then clear as much as we can in Black Temple on Thursdays. Friday night is off or run something like TK or SSC with a half raid + social raiders for gear ups and attunements. Finish BT Sunday.

Daylights saving kinda sucks and kinda rocks, raids now start at 6pm instead of 7 and are finished by 10:30pm at the latest instead of closer to mid night.

So really most people in our guild only need to play 2.5 nights a week of raiding to clear Hyjal/Black Temple.

I use to raid a lot. We could clear BWL 1 night. AQ40 upto TwinEmps another night. Finish Twins, Ouro, and Cthun the next night and head to nax. Clear spider wing.

Then do Abom wing another night. Then Plague wing another.

It all started seeming to much like work and not fun.

So as BC was about to come out i decided to stop. It wasn't worth the time anymore.

Couldn't agree more with Ara, raiding is like working for other people to get the shinies where as Arenas and Heroics means you can get the shinies.

Yeah, I've stopped raiding in Wow for the same reason, it just started to feel too much like work. Kinda of a shame, cos I wanted to see the rest of the endgame content in BC but I just couldn't justify the amount of time I was putting into it considering how little I was getting out of it.

I'm on Frostmourne, Horde. Guild name is avast.

I didn't raid nightly for more than 3-4 months prior to Burning Crusade but I can understand where Khel etc are coming from. There was just so much content and with 40 people in raids constantly gearing up there wasn't much to go around and most guilds keen on progression had to raid nightly.

Now with Burning Crusader, raids consist of only 25 people and most bosses drop 3 or 4 items each. So there is more loot going around and less people sharing it. So I guess from that point of you view you're more likely to get some rewards out of the time you spend. The other point is that it takes up less time each week, which is great. My guild raided Wed and Thurs this week 4.5 hours each night. We've cleared Mount Hyjal and have only 2 bosses left in Black Temple which should only take two hours tops on Sunday night. So the amount of time you need to invest in raiding is far less and doesn't feel anywhere near as much like work.

The other good thing in Burning Crusade is that with smaller raids, you tend to gear everyone up more quickly, and with the shared drops for set items, you gear up the different classes more evenly. You won't go through a month where only warrior loot or warlock loot drops etc. This means you can move on more quickly and don't need to continue doing lesser raids to gear up people so much.

Basically it means that once you're deep into Mount Hyjal and Black Temple there is little reason to go and do SSC and TK every week. This is pretty different to vanilla where most guilds tried to do Naxx, BWL and AQ40 every week.

I still can't bring myself to do it, I enjoyed MC/BWL/AQ40/NAXX but there's just no time to do it anymore. It probably helped I had some good guilds back then but then I moved to a few others which were way too hardcore - the type that demanded you be online at 6pm for invites (s*** I didn't get home until 6.30) and demanded you spend your spare time farming mats for the guild, etc.

And then topped off by some kiddy giving you a mouthful because your DPS wasn't high enough or you accidently did the wrong thing - I just can't find enjoyment out of big raids anymore.

I ended up starting a guild with a (RL) mate of mine for those reasons, all we do is Heroics, group PvP, Arenas, etc - back to having fun in WoW as opposed to making it seem like a job. So if you're on Blackrock & horde and interested, drop a PM :)

Man, I have enough trouble finding time to play Metroid, let alone WoW. But some of the things you guys have mentioned which appear to be new since I stopped playing (had Burning active for like 2 months) seem to sound like a good change. I think in the whole time I played, I did Zul'Gurub once, and that was the only >10man raid I ever did.
