A QGL night out cannot be created, it manifests upon the will of its own dark (n dirty) power. Computer nerds lost in a strange land, surrounded by unusual (re: asian) people, exotic liquids and unknown possibilities.
Remember, that night was a success because wolfieee posted with an upcoming event, followed by people showing interest. Thus, a QGL night occurred.

Therefore, I suggest an event. That mofo Katalyst at The Zoo. Very chilled hip hop.

For these kind of meet ups, imo all the city/inner suburb clubs are s***. Music is almost universally too loud for decent convo, drinks are higher priced and people _will_ get f***ed around by ridiculous dress codes.

The RE may very well be a 'bogan pub', but it's relatively central, there's parking, public transport, cheap drinks, generic music and massively relaxed dress codes. I honestly can't think of anywhere more appropriate for meets like this.

I don't mind places like fox and the normanby for a lax night out, but both always seem to have the obnoxious pop music cranked consistently too high. particularly the open balcony area at fox.

tbh i don't think where the venue is should be decided by democratic means because there are always going to be haters no matter where

seeing as maxe made this thread, he should pick a place and thats it.

as for when it is, maybe a little more time say 3 weeks but if you give months in adcance is just as bad as planning it for 1 week in advance it seems

I'm keen for Normanby then... a bit more central than the RE and has the same atmosphere/layout sort of. Start downstairs in the beer garden, then as ppl get more pissed they can venture to the d-floor or gaming lounge or whatevererererer. That way QGL'ers who live for pills can easily go to the valley afterwards, and bogans like me can head back to the RE.

Sunshine coast meet up would be awesome if it was in brisbane.

I would be up for QGL meetup post 27th (come back from NZ).

Though I do Parkour meetups at the Sunshine Coast for GC/Bris people all the time, 30 - 40+ with car pools, and it is f***ing LOL, funny s***. Easily done if people can get into the CBD. Alex Heads is awesome surf (but raid BBQ), Kings Beach is semi-lush surf (awesome sand) but brutal BBQ area, Mooloolaba/Maroochy is just packed.

That's all I got to say (people sleep in too much), I would really like to meet up with some of the new users, pavedarb can ninja in and decide :)
