wow, difference between Low and Max is absolutely massive. One looks like a game and the other a photo...

Yeah, and on those low settings, it still didn't even run as well as HL2 on my PC.

looking at the high quality screeny, the shadows cast by the sun are falling at different angles which makes it seem like the sun is just a floodlight that constantly hangs 50m away from you.

for the sake of realism shouldn't all of the shadows that fall from two straight edged objects that are squarely upright be the exact same angle considering how far away the light source should really be (the sun.. a bit more than 50metres?)

i thought with game programming these days theyd have that sussed.

when they say recommended requirements does that mean what you need to run it on max?

Won't be able to run it on ultra high settings unless you're running dx10 on vista, otherwise it's locked out.

Minimum requirements usually mean what is required to get the game to be playable.
Recommended is what is required to play with average settings and a decent frame rate (>30).
Max settings will require serious rigs.

^^^well it'll run like balls if you only have 512 meg of ram and a 1ghz CPU. List some other specs and you might get a better idea.

In a few months when I get a new PC.

in the MP Demo my Core 2 Duo E6750 (2.66GHz), 2GB Ram, 256MB Geforce 8800GTS Struggles on Medium.

I thought that was a beta? Or was a MP demo released as well. The beta was pretty much unplayable and depressing on a 7800gtx, 4000amd64 :P
