Today i went and bought an RGB - RGB composite cable and a 1/8th inch jack to Red White lead from Jaycar, now ive set it up at home and im having a few problems, the resolution on the tv is huge and blue and also when i open a movie file on the computer it doesnt show up on the tv.

Any ideas ?

Few specs, graphics card is an Nvidia Geforce 7900gt, running video out to a small converter box the graphics card came with.

What settings have you been playing with? Are you going through the nvidia settings? What I do is single display to the TV so that i can set up the resolution to whatever I want (right click on the nvidia icon in the tray and all options are there) that usually fixes my probs. Also I have the issue where its blank black window on TV when i try play a movie. Close it and open again then its fixed.

This thread prompted me to set up my second comp with the TV like I've been meaning to.

The video overlay and resolution will depend on which of the two screens are set to be the primary display. So if your monitor is primary, the overlay will be shown on that and whatever resolution you have it set to will be used on both screens. This means the desktop on your TV will scroll because the resolution on your monitor is too big for your TV.
If you switch your TV to primary display you get to watch movies on there and the resolution should fit but will look too low on your monitor.

Assuming you just want to watch movies on the TV, I found the easiest way is to set nView to single display and just change devices with a hotkey when you want to watch something.

To set it up, right-click the desktop and select your monitor under NVIDIA Display. Then under nView Display Settings set the Display Mode to Single Display.
Next you can right-click the desktop again to choose nView Properties.
Under Hot Keys, go down to Display Mode and set a hotkey for Switch to next display device. Then you can just hot key to your TV and back and whichever is selected will use its optimal resolution and the overlay.
Otherwise, just use clone mode and switch the primary display when you need to.

Sounds to me like either the cable or a loose connection.
