If you like your toilet humour cut with smart, off the cuff delivery, deft in-jokes and witty banter, Superbad is your movie.
A synopsis won't really do the film justice, as it's the set pieces and individual performances that really make it work, but here goes:

Two best friends are desperate to have sex with a girl before leaving high school and heading off to their respective futures. After being invited to an end of year party, they offer to buy all the alcohol using their friend's newly acquired fake id. Hilarity ensues when things don't go quite according to plan.

As I said, it sounds kinda lame when the plot is described, as in 'Oh, so it's another teen coming-of-age movie with dick jokes'. And it sort of is. But they are some of the best dick jokes ever. And the movie manages to be much more besides. Comparisons could be made to American Pie etc, but that doesn't even come close to doing this film justice.
Just go see it, and if you can't get a laugh, check your pulse.

Just saw it last night, and I must say that it's the funniest movie I've seen in ages. You can't really compare it to American Pie. they're fairly different types of comedy.

It was so f***ing hilarious. The preview makes it look kinda lame, but that's cause the preview has the only jokes in it without really explicit language. I was laughing so hard at some bits because it was soooo true to life.

I was thinking American Pie too which seemed to be aimed at my age group ten years ago, whereas this one seems to be aimed at my age group today, ten years older.

There's an interview in the latest Empire magazine with the two stars of the movie, Jonah Hill and Michael Cera. (I highly recommend Empire if you are into your movies. I have found it to be really balanced and an entertaining read).
If you were thinking one of these guys looks kinda familiar, Michael Cera plays George Michael Bluth in Arrested Development.

The one thing that made the movie f***ing hilarious to my friends and I was that it was so true to our own experiences, albeit we were a little older when it happened.

Without ever having met teq I'm guessing that he's a very serious person who enjoys very serious movies which are all artistic and well produced.

Thus he's unable to switch off and enjoy a very honest comedy about teenage guys.
