big brother only annoyed me when it was popular n all my mate's wives n girlfriends had to see every episode n talk about it constantly. the last few years where it's popularity waned it didn't bother me coz no one i knew cared about it anymore.

Channel Ten need Big Brother (and their other lame Reality shows) to for fill their Australian viewing requirements, even if they run at a small loss its probably cheaper then making a real show... then again Ten's other aussie shows are absolute crap. Neighbours, Rove ...

Hopefully the $40mil or so they get from it will be used to buy some quality shows, like the next installment of Futurama!

Ten won't get the $40 million. If someone else buys the rights it'll be from the production company I would have thought. Then Ten will have whatever they were paying as extra cash (-any loss of advertising revenue). Then they'll have to put that towards showing more local content to fill the gaps BB leaves in that respect.

In the uk, they have 24 hour stations for uk bigbrother, best place for it I think is on foxtel, or maybe a combined foxtel / 9 thing (since they get on better with 9 than any of the other free to air)
