the level of tryhardness between kyle and hughes is like comparing, say, something really really really big, with, say, something really really really small

kyle is the classic "shock jock" and does nothing that is not totally predictable. I can't imagine why anyone would find anything he ever does or says on TV remotely entertaining, because it's being done for one reason - to further his reputation as a "bad boy".

He has no place being on Australian Idol because he's as musically talented as a brick - being on radio doesn't automatically qualify you as being able to recognise decent performances. On the (very, very few) occasions that I've seem him passing judgment on Idol it has always been unnecessarily rude, pointlessly antagonistic, and generally without any regard to the actual quality of the performance.

Regardless of whether or not Hughesy is just trying to get some cheap attention to raise his own profile, it's nice to see someone that can actually get on the news saying these things about him publicly so that other people can see them.

There's enough people that actually ARE f***ing retard a****** d******* jerks in the world, without companies actually PAYING people to act like that.

Chub AFAIK (which really isn't much) presenters do have a bit of swing over what gets played.

In terms of B105 (isn't that what Kyle is on isn't it), Hamish explained once that they have no input at all and the producer has set lists for each day.

For other stations and other timeslots, I could definetely see the presenter having some input.

If Kyle does go to jail, let's hope they throw away the key.
