Just saw this at a preview screening in the City and it was great. It is pretty similar to the 2nd film in the way it is shot (the shaky cam) which can be annoying at times, but I thought it was still great action and very tense. I loved the soundtrack of the second film so have listened to it a lot over the past couple years. Quite a bit of it is reused, with some good new tracks.
Definitely one to check out. I may see it again with other friends on release, next Thursday the 30th. :) |

i agree. kick arse movie. i saw it amoungst the greatest...sigh.. B grade celebraties. home and away neighbours human nature shannon knooooooowl and pat rafter eat your heart out. sigh. some nice chicky celebraties though. although i didnt know what actual show they were from i knew why they got the job... :) didnt recognise a lot of the celebs cause i dont watch tv much at all. i had to get the other look-a-likes to tell me who was who. great movie.. even better with free piss and free flights and accom. i'd love to slow some of the scenes down later and watch them. if it wasnt the heineken and champaz that made me miss them i thought some of the fight scenes were sped up or just super quick. foot note: great time tipping cabbies (it was a s*** night for cabbies but if they got us they did ok) care of universal studios cab charge on behalf of nova. we tipped well. |

totally agree on the h2h fight scenes. You guys who have also seen it, did you do so by 'other' means? I don't know how people can appreciate films like this that way.

who cares. everyone needs to get over the fact that movies are not the same as books. they are 2 hours and don't have time for all the exposition in the books, and things need to be changed up to make something sellable.
I can read books and still enjoy the movies even though the book is more detailed and thought out in most cases. It's just they are very different mediums. A bad movie of a book will not ruin the book. I love in these movies (and I assume the books :P) how it makes you feel you've been around the world in two hours. |

Jason Bourne definitely makes James Bond look like a noob in comparison.
Also loved the Waterloo Station scene, giving old mate directions over the phone was very well done. |

Movie was pretty cool but the director needs to settle the f*** down with his "shakey cam". Sure, it's fun to use it here and there during fight scenes but in every single shot it gets a bit too much. Apart from that it's worth watching and some of the action scenes were damn awesome.

pity the movie doesnt follow the book at all. Neither did the second one. Movie was pretty cool but the director needs to settle the f*** down with his "shakey cam". "Shakey cam" totally ruined the second movie for me. How bad is it in the third? |

Personally, this is one of a better novel converted to movie, movie. If it'd followed the books too closely it'd be pretty long drawn out and IMO won't work as "movies".
I do like the books as well, though I haven't read the Ultimatum as I sorted of lost the interest after the Supremacy. PS Looking forward to see this movie |

first: pity the movie doesnt follow the book at all. then: ive never read the books, its just what ive heard. So... its a pity that you haven't read the books and that the movies don't follow the books? I bet you were one of those wankers who cried about frodo not dying to destroy the ring, but you never actually read the book. But hey, I don't know if frodo was meant to die or not, I haven't read the books either, it's just what I've heard. |

Man, everyone is complaining about shakycam in this, but I didn't even notice it! Though on the other hand I didn't notice the massive timecodes or studio watermark over the copy I watched either :D
Also, the scene showing Julia Stiles's character (Nikki) in the mirror came as a bit of a shock/twist to me. Well played! |

Casa - Frodo doesn't die in the book.
I for one am glad the Bourne movies aren't following the books - I can't stand Robert Ludlum's writing style (and yes - I've read them all). Looking forward to seeing this film. |

Yay! There I thought I was the only one! Personally I enjoyed his books which he collaborated with other author better. Which is sort of a reason why I stopped reading the Borne series after the Supremacy... |

Dont ask me why I thought this but I thought eric van lustbader of ninja/miko etc fame wrote ultimatum...
I was surprised when I saw the book and it had RL on it only. I've liked some of his other books, but I've never read any of the borne books |

Haaaa ok, now I know the story, google is amazing isnt it!
Eric Van Lustbader has continued author Robert Ludlam’s series, the newest title being The Bourne Betrayal. This time Jason Bourne has to fight for his life, find a cache of uranium and stop terrorists from attacking the United States. There are 5 titles all together in the Bourne series, with the last two being written by Van Lustbader rather then Ludlum: The Bourne Identity, The Bourne Supremacy, The Bourne Ultimatum, The Bourne Legacy and finally The Bourne Betrayal. So, will be interesting to see how much the story changes eh. I read an interview with Matt Damon in the Times week before last and he said he wouldnt do anymore, I wonder if the studios will talk him into doing Lustbaders books too. |

yeah the whole series was f***ing awesome. Shame no one has ever been able to make a movie out of it that doesn't come across as taking the piss.

apparently the first movie follows the book pretty wellNot really, but it's much closer than the others. Personally I enjoyed his books which he collaborated with other author better. You mean the Covert One series? He hasn't collaborated with any other author in regards to the Bourne series, Lustbader just continued on his work when Ludlum passed away. The movie was enjoyable, the whole Julia Stiles part was bloody annoying though. They killed the wife for what, so those two can fall in love now... ugh. So, will be interesting to see how much the story changes eh. I read an interview with Matt Damon in the Times week before last and he said he wouldnt do anymore, I wonder if the studios will talk him into doing Lustbaders books too.Well it would be interesting to see where they take it if it were to continue, from memory Carlos plays a huge part in the Legacy. I don't know how they would work him into it all now. |
