be careful killing them, the public servants come down pretty hard on that :)
also, in regards to the RSPCA, are they an actual government body? they seem to do fundraisers all the time (charity?), yet on the RSPCA show on TV they seem to have the power to enter properties and take peoples mistreated animals. i thought even cops needed warrants. are they like a charity with legal powers? cheers nick |

they would have to be re-nested.
is someone feeding them? its unusual for crows to just start turning up. unless someone trashed their old nest :) you might just be the next victim in a long line of crow hate. |

They can only enter to prevent a crime that they can see from public space and then only for the purpose of stopping that crime. |

$75,000 fine for killing birds apparently. There was something similar on the news where someone had been baiting mag pies and they were dying all over the neighbourhood

As I said in the other Crow thread;
Starter Gun (For athletic races and such) works wonders. However, considering you're in an apartment, might be wise to check with your neighbours to see if they are just as pissed off with the Crows. Most people would have you believe that people not correctly disposing of their rubbish will bring about the Crows. That is just a old wives tale. They're just like any other bird... except for that f***ing Craw at 4am >.> |

just kill one of them and string it up in the tree they hang around...Even killing a crow is quite difficult as they have a keen sence for danger and I swear they can smell lead or gunpowder at 1km.

as far as i know crows are the only birds in Australia which are not a protected species. i know they used to cause havoc when i was working on a sheep station and they would sit on the sheeps heads and peck out there eyes..
we constantly used to give them the good news with a few rounds from a shotgun back in brisbane we had a flock of crows nestle in next to animals i was looking after.. after my experiences out west i didnt take any chances and shot them all over the course of a weekend with a fairly powerful bb gun.. did the job and was silent now i'm reformed and cant kill ants let alone birds |

When I was a kid, just pointing a broom handle at em was enough to make em scarper....
That said, as a kid growing up on a cane farm I also had access to some pretty decent "boomsticks" Not to mention what happened if you could actually catch a crow an paint a white stripe on it then release it... |

A friend of mine suggested using a small mirror to shine light into the crow's eyes.
Only works on a sunny day though. |
