I have office 2003 on my computer at home, on our laptop we have the new office 2007. If i save a file on 2007 and try to open it on the other computer it does not recongise the file. Any one know whats going on?

What version are the other computers running? If you save the file in 2007 format (DOCX for example), you will need to install the compatibility tool for DOCX on computers running Office 2003.

Oh ok. Yea when i look at the file it says its a DOCX file. So where do i download the update for the 2003 version so it can read DOCX files.

In 2007 you can "Save As 2003"

u can choose to save it in old format as well in the save menu i'm pretty sure

yes that's all I do I make sure to save all the docs for uni by going Save As -> selecting word 97-2003 doc instead of docx
