ps Black Sabbath rocked last night German :D

Dio is the best vocalist I've ever seen live & witnessing Iommi in the flesh was worth the price of admission alone.

Unfortunately, Down now take the place of 's***tiest-live-performance-ever', easily beating Velvet Revolver's performance here. Phil is a wanker (guess we now know where all the talent was in Pantera).

Yeah, that show was awesome, couldn't ask for a better support act then COC.

God, whinge much. How many other tours bring out 4 internationals for the one reasonable ticket price? Even if you look at it as paying $80 to see just Megadeth, it's still a win IMO, think Metallica tickets will be that cheap next time they're out here? I'll be there for sure, November is pretty busy so far (machine head and both bad religion shows)

Sabbath last night was f***ing phenomenal and Bassman, guess there's no accounting for taste because i thought Down were also awesome and that Phil had a great, cleaned up stage presence - hope they come back again soon for their own show.

I never saw Pantera on their final aus tour, but everyone I've spoke to that did said they we're pretty average.

bassman..that's weird. My mate who reviewed the show said down were killer(even if he missed half their set)

I wanted to go, but had next to no sleep previous night and early rise for today..The bastard met down aswell..ugh!!

I don't see anything wrong with this g'tour lineup..yeah it's nothing compared to the usa tour..but f***in hell..lacuna coil is gonna be hell wicked to see live

Dan / German - fair enough :( I must have very different tastes...

My 2c -
# Pepper's solos consisted of metallica wah, only worse
# Both guitars & bass were fighting in the mix - it was waaaaay too bass heavy (what happened to Rex's old bass sound you could hear at 100 paces in the mix?)
# Phil was so out of tune it wasn't funny - his Stairway ending was ???
# They just weren't tight. When Sabbath started with Mob Rules it was like chalk & cheese

I just don't know how they could go from something like Pantera with killer riffing, solos, lyrics etc to that mess last night. FFS - they played one song with 3 chords Em -> G -> F# (F passing note) -> Em that went for 10+ minutes!

Really? I only remember one song when he even used the wah.

I didn't pay much attention to Rex (wonder how many fines he copped for all those cigs) but I'll agree that Kirk's guitar was totally lost in the mix, could barely hear his solos over Pepper's rhythm sections. That's hardly the bands fault though.

It's not really metal at all, def more stoner rock. If you're looking for Pantera, it aint it, it never was and never intended to be. IMO, the simplicity in some songs is a good thing. Can't wait for the new album.

FAIL! Go listen to some My Chemical Romance and cut yourself you noob.

I just think our Gigantour lineups suck, even though the ticket price is good. US gets bands like Dream Theatre, Opeth, Nevermore, Symphony X... and we get s*** (besides Megadeth).

Once Dimebag died, Pantera ceased. Even if they find another s***hot replacement, Pantera are not Pantera.

Don't think anyone ever suggested they were or would be? My point was Down existed while Pantera was still around, it was always supposed to be something different entirely so obviously isn't going to appeal to the entire Pantera fanbase.

Also demon, that last one was worthy :)
