Adam Brody plays Carter Webb who has just been dumped by his true love, Sophia (Elena Anaya). Heartbroken and depressed, Carter escapes Los Angeles to suburban Michigan to care for his ailing grandmother, Phyllis (Olympia Dukakis). Soon after his arrival, Carter stumbles into the lives of the family living directly across the street: Sarah Hardwicke (Meg Ryan), the mother of two daughters, Paige (Makenzie Vega) and older sister, Lucy (Kristen Stewart).

Through his relationships with these women, as well as with his grandmother, Carter discovers that what felt like an end was only just the beginning of something else…

Just watched this and I gotta say it wasn't too bad. Although it's hard to watch Adam Brody and not think you're watching Seth Cohen. Maybe he should play a serial killer or something completely different so he can shake that geeky image.

Anyway, if you're after something with a bit of romance and some soppy stuff thrown in you wont go wrong with this.

Actually this kinda reminds me of a movie I searched out recently (It's a Boy/Girl thing) just because of Samaire Armstrong (who played Anna Stern alonside Brody). Samaire was also the reason I discovered Entourage.

I find it hard to imagine Adam Brody in any role other than the Cohen role... but then, Rachael Bilson was also rather crummy in The Last Kiss so...
