Hey guys.

SE k800i

Is there any way to turn off the network notification you are on, on the main display screen?

I.e.
Mine says

TELSTRA MOBILE
-current recieving tower suburb-

Want to f*** "TELSTRA MOBILE" off. I couldn't figure out how to do it on my old nokia, or this phone or if it's even possible.

I don't mind which network tower i'm recieving from/know how to turn that off anyway. (when I disable it.. "telstra mobile" remains).

P.S. Google hasn't helped me (probably because I have no idea what the hell it's even called that i'm looking to turn off here).

It's annoying me because
a) It's over my wallpaper.
B) I know what network i'm with, I dont want it fksing plastered on my phones.

Also - I own my phone OUTRIGHT, so it shouldn't be locked onto any network or anything.

Cheers.

I'm with telstra, my phone says telstra when it's turned on, when I turn it on and off and try to browse the internet all I see is the Optus logo. I did NOT buy my phone from an optus shop. I ask you what the s*** goes on there?

I went looking for the same thing you're after and I believe for my phone to do it I have to hack the system files to pieces (easy to do with some proggy I found) that simply stops it displaying. Unless there's an easy way that I just didn't see.

I know of no way to do what you ask but whoop sounds like he's on the right track. Is there a phone on which "network display" can be disabled?

i just have a theme that sets the network name to be almost the same colour as my background.

Mine just has a small "3" on it. Doesn't bother me at all.
