I'm a bit of a newcomer (newbie), and I'm wishing advice from you all.

I'm in a long distance relationship - girl I met whilst holidaying in Sydney, lives local and is unwilling to move to Brisbane. Ever. We have talked _lots_ about moving in together, she was loving the idea, but quite recently it seems as though she's being "distant" (pun intended). We normally talk nightly, but I haven't talked to her in 6 days! I have no idea what's going through her mind.

I can't help but worry that she has met someone else :( I know I stole her from another man, but I really thought she could be the one. I'm feeling like s***, don't want to eat, and have no motivation to do anything. I feel like I have nothing to live for.

Has anyone been in this situation before? Anyone in long distance relationships?

Grandpa didn't have Grandma bail on him while he was at war.. but I hear she had plenty of temptation while he was away. He never came back and all they had was crappy letters to keep things going. My Step father was interstate or abroad for upto 6 months of the year when I was growing up. He's still with mum today.

as for me: I tried fruitlessly to keep the relationship going with my GF in Tasmania when I moved back to Qld in '95. (and obviously hoped that she would move up here with me). The simple fact of the matter was that she wasn't at a point in her life to commit to a permanent relationship, lest of all with a guy who wasn't in a postion to settle down himself. She met and married a few years later - like an idiot who was thought he was 'commited' I waited for her to change her mind... too afraid to talk to her after we broke up. I wasted half a decade of my life being single and being content with the mundane offerings that come with work.

Move on mate.. if you're both ment to be together life has a way of seeing you both find each other. Meanwhile - the mother of you kids could be unknowingly be crying her eyes out right now after her last idiot boyfriend dumped her for another chick. Stranger things have happened ;)

seriously you need to take a leaf out of Doc Love's book. as long as a chick is into you, i.e. her interest level is in high 80-90s she will basically do anything you ask of her.

if her interest level drops below 50 (and I am guessing hers never was over 50 from what you have said), she has already moved on.

I have had my own dealings with a long distance relationship, first as friends then something more over the last four years.
So when I say that every situation has it's own subtleties and nuances that no one outside of that relationship can really grasp I have experience to call on there.

Asking us about it is all well and good but it basically comes down to you knowing her better than any of us do.
Do you think she has found someone else?, if so be prepared to move on matey.
