Topic: Energy Blue / Royal theme for XP Professional?

Hi guys,

I found out today while wasting time on the internet at work researching some stuff that there is a much nicer official theme available for Windows XP than the default ones, called "energy Blue". It was apparently shipped for MCE and then leaked on various sites for XP.

I've seen a few of your desktop piccies seem to have it installed; anyone got the skinny on how / where to get this?

Yeah, a few years by the look of it - introduced in the MCE in '04. I'm not exactly the quickest on the uptake with this stuff, we have to keep our systems pretty standard so that we can take screenshots for docos etc - the Royale thingy is a MS standard tho, so is cool apparently.

Anyway thanks for the halps. I still see a lot of bum-ugly plain XP Blue desktops so maybe not everyone knows about it yet :D

If your computer in any way noticeably improves when running Windows Classic theme, then you need to upgrade the bloody thing.

The Wiki page for Energy Blue lists a few at the bottom.

I installed Royale Noir (which added blue as well) and the Zune theme.

I'm liking the Royale Blue atm; its not so far form default XP that I look like I'm running a non-standard OS, but is significantly less upgly than default XP blue!

to help, I used that luna royale theme, and then made the close/minimize/restore buttons smaller in the appearance options (which also makes the title bar smaller as a side effect) so that my titlebars don't take up a chunk of space and look butt ugly like they do on default luna size. Works with just about any theme, doesn't only apply to the luna royale one.
