Hideo Kojima demonstrated some of Metal Gear Solid 4's gameplay on the PlayStation 3. Check out the movie. It's pretty impressive and certainly shows why many gamers are waiting for it before they shell out their hard earned duckets for the most expensive console system.

Looks pretty good, save for some lazily done animations. Shame it's on PS3, and thus I'll probably never play it.

Looks awesome. Funny that even Hideo struggles with aiming with a console controller....

Hah awesome YouTube... I guess that's the absolute highest score you can get on that level? Still... Aiming with a Wii doesn't count as a "console controller"...

Its not that its not possible, its just that its laughable compared to the degree of control you get with a mouse

like trog says above, its just not physically possible to do what a mouse can because thumbsticks limit the speed of aiming movement artificially. With a mouse its all physical! (heh)

On topic: For the first time I kind of wish I had a PS3. No other game has interested me but this looks mighty nice. Im still happier with a 360 though. Way more good games than PS3 so far or in the announced future.

I thought it was kinda odd that he didn't drawn attention with his unsilenced sniper rifle, but come on, how can you not like the camo suit, the barrel and the pointless pervy magazine!

Beyong the hoopla of the graphics of MGS4, has anyone noticed the very daft AI in this demonstration? With his camo on Snake is able to appear invisible jsut by lying on tiles? Snake is able to pic off a soldier with an obviously loud and unsilenced sniper rifle yet no soldier notices a shot has been fired? Snake is able to stand right in the open, during a firefight, and he is not shot?

the difficulty setting was probably set to noob. you wouldnt look so good if u got killed in a demo. anyway they were focusing more on the kinda s*** you can do rather than the ai of the enemies.

I know the MGS series haven't always been absolutely serious, unlike Splinter Cell, but where on earth does his barrel come from? Where did Metal Gear Mk2 disappear to? And how does his men's magazine help him when he reads it?

you never played an mgs game have you? its just hideo's humour. its kinda funny in the original games when u hid in a box in the middle of nowhere and the guards are wondering what a box is doing there.

That looked f***ing awesome and fun, I haven't played an MGS since the original, pitty about the console factor.

Maybe what you consider decent aiming for you is actually retarded console aim for the rest of us.

I thought that was always part of MGS, make the AI less likely to see snake in obvious positions so you can get away with doing some fun stuff. Whereas splinter cell you gotta be a bit more stealthy.

And he explained that the magazine can be used to distract the guards if you drop it on the ground.

yeh, people keep saying stuff about the AI, I just thought it was the same as all the other MGS games. Intentially dumbed-down so you can do more stealth stuff. "Remember, it's a stealth action game."
