I got 2 tickets to the advanced screening tonight at the regent.

I do hope the movie is not complete and utter s*** like the last 5 or so seasons have been.

all signs so far point to awsome. The 2 latest clips from the movie to surface are no exception:

Right Click, Save As:
Clip 1: Clap for Alaska - 12Mb
Clip 2: 5 Options - 18Mb

to play them, rename to "whatever.mov"

I haven't laughed at a trailer once yet... and this is stuff the rest of the audience was laughing at... like Homer pushing a pig along the ceiling.... someone will need to explain to me why that is funny ?

The best way to see how extremely golden the early Simpsons used to be is simply to watch the recent seasons. I haven't been able to watch any new episodes for a fair few years now. The movie looks the same. If they were going to do a Simpons movie they should have done it around the time Conan O'Brien was still there.

I can't stand the simpsons anymore, I only like the golden years (6pm repeats mostly).
Family guy f***ing owns the simpsons.

New Family Guy sucks just as much as new Simpsons.

Season 1 - 3 are the best, 4 is pretty good, 5 and 6 just got lame.

I doubt I'll even go see this new Simpsons movie, from the shorts it looks like a load of bollocks.

Well

It was pretty funny.

Spoiler:
I dont think this is really a spoiler, but it started off piss-funny, then turned to /meh when they tried to elaborate too much on a story line, I guess without this it would just be another episode. They were quite risky too, which I liked

I guess it wasn't really a spoiler, I didn't give away anything in the movie, but for the paranoid, don't press it.

All those wankers from nova were there, seeing lutsy again irl made me want to punch him in the chops.

I give the movie 7/10 but at the end of the day, it was really an hour and a half long season 5 episode.

I'll hit the $5 student session at the IMAX. My expectations are extremely low and I'm going to view it as a giant Simpsons episode, nothing more/nothing less.

Schools back in swing now, so I won't cop the s***c*** crowd like Harry Potter at least.

it opened here today, saw it in a filled cinema, was pretty cool

a few of the jokes didn't really translate well into spanish (most prominent example was that of the between a rock and a hard place)

yeah it was in spanish, they have special spanish actors for each of the characters, and although normally with american films its english with spanish subtitles, things like the simpsons and other animations are in spanish only because there are little kids in the theater that dont know how to read

Um I admitted that I didn't realise Khel was referring to Homer's line - I was aware of the line itself though. I just figured he (and rav) were trolling. I stand corrected.

But my mistake was fair enough - I'm sure there's plenty of fools out there who would actually agree with the sentiment (ie. why pay for a simpsons movie?), so I took Khel's comment at face-value.

I don't know what's wrong with me dint, I heard the laughter too. I guess constant visual gags aren't really my cup of tea.

for instance homer getting slammed into a rock and "a hard place" repeatedly or getting a hammer claw stuck in his eye. pretty "meh" moments which got big laughs from the cinema.

I guess I'm just cynical and old

I watched it this morning and thought it was extremely average, like most of the new eps that have been coming out. The only part I laughed at was when Homer was whipping the huskies and then they turned on him when he took their leashes off. I guess it's prolly hard coming up with new content after 18 years.

It was OK i thought, some pretty funny scenes which made it worth the watch. Though it needed more involvement with characters OTHER than the simpson family. Yeah there was a little bit of interaction between some of characters, but mang there was just tooo much 'family' storyline stuff and not enough scenes with other funny characters (apo, mow, lenny carl smithers mr burns etc etc). I was expecting a bit more, but still thought it was pretty decent.

Anyone see "At the Movies" tonight? David confesses he's never seen an episode of The Simpsons (much to Margaret's disbelief), but gave the movie 4 stars. Margaret gave it 3.5.

there was funny parts.. no better then an episode except in the animation which was obviously first class and seemed to be done in 3d
