I, for one, am looking forward with great gusto to Joel "Fogbugz" Spolsky's world tour. I still remember seeing The Fogbugz at the Rooty Hill RSL back in '79, when lead guitar duties had temporarily fallen to hard rock specialist Manny 'Fingers' Stretton. Although many "Buggies" did not warm to the new sound, and even fewer held the close-cropped Stretton in very high regard at the time, his signature licks and manic onstage persona were to become the blueprint for the 'Bug's virtual dominance of the small town club circuit throughout the early '80's.
After the death of drummer 'Winko' Wally Canner, the Bugz never really rekindled their former glory, and in this Buggie's humble opinion, the records they released after "Bug Party Shakedown" were pale shadows of their former brilliance, with the obvious exception of their huge comeback one-off, entitled "One Door, Two Knockers." Let's hope Spolsky can bring back the magic and rock this old Buggie's socks off. Whatever happens, you can be sure I'll be buggered if I'd miss it. |

actually on http://www.joelonsoftware.com/ he has some interesting articles, one near the bottom on the front page about the difference between mac and windows font rendering was pretty interesting.
