If you're going to link to Whirlpool TiT wouldn't it have been better to link to the thread?

This might be a silly question but why wouldn't ISP's count uploads? Do they pay for in/outbound data or do ISP's only have to pay for inbound?
Don't telstra count data between customers? Say I send something to another bpa user using msn or something, don't they count that towards usage (or used to)? |

Optus counts uploads *IF* you choose the plan that counts uploads, which as a trade off has "unlimited home calls to local, national and Optus mobile numbers".
ie. New better value for some people (ie. non p2p people) plans have been added to their line up, the old non-upload-counted upload plans still exist. That said if you a jaurez monkey and upload 234945953 terrabytes a month so you have some awesome stats and a cool avatar on gaygeekporn.net or whatever it is your so desperate to prove your nerdliness too, they probably will take action of some form. So .. in summary whirlpool has too many tinfoil hats (or readers poor attention spans and low comprehension ability), and TiT is wrong but also right, depending on what plan you choose (and is obviously a whirlpool person previously mentioned). |

I cant remember where exactly I read it but it said when they pay for their downstream pipe the same sized up pipe comes with it, so as most people would rarely do more up than down they don't care.
However with the latest trend of p2p s*** its becoming more common for the average user to have higher uploads. Its essentially impossible on Optus cable when you are capped at 15k/30k up and they have a cry if you do more than 1 gig up per day. Very easy on ADSL2 though. |
