In IE, so first option is pointless. And honestly, when I am kicking back, watching TV with my feet on the desk, browsing the forums one handed, it is a pain to have to put my feet down, swing around and use my other hand to hold down the shift key whilst I click on a link. I AM LAZY dammit, and target="_blank" in the link solves the problem. ^_^

You're an idiot FB. Right-click -> Open in new window. It is now my de facto behaviour to right-click on any link and open in new tab whenever I intend to continue reading the page I'm on. People haphazardly use the _blank behaviour, meaning that you can't rely on it and you have to do it yourself anyway.

N-Dude, I am lazy. Before you got into the habit, did it piss you off having to navigate back to QGL after you visited other peoples links. Sure, I could use TWO actions (right click & new window or new Tab), but from habit, in any forum I visit that allows HTML to be used, I provide everybody with one click links. I know that I am a noob to QGL, but it is one of my pet hates, and I only hang in here when on RDO's. Therefore, I am not a regular visitor, and it really pisses me off that I have to adjust my actions to compensate for something that I think is avoidable. I suppose once I hit the 1000 post mark I would be used to having to compensate and right click, but at the moment habit has me single clicking and having to navigate back if I forget to right click. It is simply a pet hate which I am voicing aloud.
