EA have announced that Boogie, an upcoming party game for the Nintendo Wii, will ship in August in Australia:
Players will dance, sing and create music videos with this ultimate videogame party package that takes advantage of the innovative Wii controls getting gamers off their couch and playing to a new beat. Not only will gamers be belting out their favorite tunes or dancing to the latest hit songs, players will catch their best dance moves, record their own voice and make music videos with the easy-to-use music video creator.
Check it out on the official site.

This could be fun with the addition of some good friends (male + female) and a few drinks :)

I'm glad I bought a Wii (this was just a very recent thing for me ok). It's a game system that you can actually enjoy with all your non-gamer friends.

August seems to be a good month for games with this and Guitar Hero 80's. There's also another awesome game out in the US on PS2 called Dance Factory. It's a DDR style game and it lets you put in your own music and it will generate the scrolling arrows to the beat.

Stole this from the IGN site.
Users just load up the game, pop in one of their own CDs afterwards, and the CPU will then start to choreograph the action based on the track. Once that has been accomplished, it's time to play as users can bust out their dance mat and follow the onscreen prompts ala DDR or something similar. Oh, and as an added bonus, the backgrounds and environments will change based on the selected track as well.

Confirmed game modes for Dance Factory include Fitness, Endurance, and Recorder, and apparently, there will be some kind of Monster Rancher-esque quality to the program with specialized "creatures" that can be unlocked in every music CD. As you might have guessed, the main mode in Dance Factory is the traditional point-scoring dance bit, but playing through it is the only way that users can unlock hidden goodies and modes.

Not sure when or if it's getting a release out here but I hope it does. Looks like it will be fun.
