Topic: Audio player - start stop remotely?

So, i have a customer who has 20 remote sites with a pc that will be playing a mp3 file. Occasionally he wishs to run a script that will stop the music playing on the remote end, copy the new file over and start the music again. Anyone know of such a utility? I figured I could just run a batch file that could do it. I didnt really want to just run a audio stream server as the 20 clients are on data based plans (mediapc's, just run a full screen flash webpage all day).

I thhough maybe get some software to run as a service then i could start/stop it remotely?

Any ideas much appreciated.

I know that total recorder ($$) runs as a service. As the name implies, it's designed to record audio. However, it may do some of what you're after. I use it to launch a radio stream from a batch file. The more that I think about it, the more I think it's not what you're after. However, it runs as a service, and that's something you're after.

you may need to use a wmi script as you'll need to stop the music playing before copying the new file over as the file will be locked.
