I need a monitor to be about 20-30m away from the PC, either way ill be running high density cable, but can anyone point me to some tried and tested vga signal amplifiers. The screen is only going to be running a flash website (retail PC), no need for small text or anything.

Why does it have to be 20-30m away?

You can buy small amps that can boost VGA but over that distance VGA will probably be fine.

You can run VGA that far without a DA, you shouldnt have too many problems. I did it for powerpoint presentions lots of time.

I pulled off a 75m VGA run straight off the back of a video scaler the other week. No ghosting or noise in the image what so ever. Generally if your using a desktop PC (laptops sometimes have a lower output) you can get 30m fine without a VDA, 50m seems to be the critical distance where you start looking at VDA's or alternate delivery methods (VGA over Cat5 for example)

30m is the standard distance for notebooks before getting a DA.
The reason you got 75 is because the scaler would have boosted the signal on output :) |

VGA over Cat-5 is another option. Jaycar sells em, and they work quite well.

those units are passive not amplified tho, their max range is beyond no doubt a 'best case' scenario.
