Trying to get rid of a feral cat living in a sotrm water drain near the house.
Council won't do anything.

So... aparently traps are legal. Anyone ever used one before ? ($105 to buy one seems a tad excessive)
And what do you do with the cat (other then heshan bag and a brick in the river).

If you really want to get rid of it then bait some meat with ratsack and throw it down the drain.

There's definitely pest removal types that'll help you out, as long as they're not protected

Get it to an animal refuge you sick f***.

If nobody claims it, at least it will die painlessly via euthanasia drugs.

I hope somebody kills you one day, prick.

ROFL@Gimpy. Good post, I enjoyed it.

As for the poisoning of cat food/meat, that doesn't work AFAIK. They deliberately put stuff in Ratsack to turn pets off it, and to make kids spit it out if they taste it. My grandparents have had problems with a few cats over the years (a couple of strays, one was the neighbour's cat that kept pissing/s***ting all over my grandparents yard, owners wouldn't do anything about it). One of the cats loved sitting on my grandfather's recycle bin, so he put a yellow piece of crepe paper over the top of his recycling bin and about 6 inches of water in the bottom. When he heard the thing screeching he just came out and closed the lid and put a few bricks on it and suffocated the cat. f*** cats, they're c***s.

Perhaps, but if it's feral its long gone, and you probably don't want to get close to it. Unfortunately they do significant damage to local wildlife and the environment and should be put down.

A trap is probably the best way, baiting it with poisoned food as Insom said gives the chance that you will end up killing something else instead.

If you feel concern for the cat feel free to read one of the many articles out there about the damage they do such as: The poor Bilbies!

why would you need bricks on the lid? i can´t see a cat forcing its way out of a wheelie bin

I'm thinking this is to stop air getting into the wheelie bin.....or the horrible sound getting out!!!

I've always been too scared to try the aspirin in milk thing for fear that a nice cat would get it instead. We had a few bloody cats hanging around here and spraying (gawd I hate that) and their owners didn't give a bugger about them because they never seemed to go home... so we threw a towel over one, and took it for a drive...not as far as we wanted to take it as it started arcing up so we let it out about 2kms up the road...but it took 3 weeks to find its way back, so we did it again and took it out along the Bruce Highway to a suburb at the other end of Maryborough, hoping that some other silly bastard would take it in and feed the mongrel thing... but about 8 weeks later it showed up again so we gave up. Mav kept telling me to get out the air rifle and put a pellet up it...but i thought that was cruel..

Alcohol in Milk ^_^ makes a pussy go funny.

Years ago I had a party whilst my flatmate was away, and she had this annoying cat that used to get into everything. Anyway, everybody started putting spirits in the cats milk, and the cat lapped it up all night. I lost track of how many bowls the cat had, but later in the night it disappeared. About midnight it bolted out of one of the rooms, and slammed straight into a wall. At the time I thought the guys were chasing the cat, yep, you just cannot stop the guys from chasing after pussy :), anyway, it kept screaming around the house bouncing off the walls, so I opened the back door and it shot down the steps and disappeared for the night. We pissed ourselves laughing for ages over the cat, and learned that alcohol and cats are great value. Nothing like a drunk pussy.

We found the cat the next morning, stiff as a board.....to much partying does horrible things to a pussy.

hence why i said.. maybe try the rspca - they like deal with that stuff all the time. and they have to gear to get rid of it in a much pleasent way then just straight out murder.. i know feral cats are bad to the local wildlife.. but just taking it life so cruelly just becuase it was perhaps dumped by some mindless individual is no reason to start baiting it with ratsack etc. :(

councils do s*** all...

Certainly was!

Nah, there is always room for more pussy puns. ^_^

Seriously, get a cat cage from the council. They let you borrow them, so all you have to do it set it and put it out. Once you have caught the cat, take it back to the council and they will dispose of it.

Bugger, being serious is nowhere near as funny as throwing in the pussy jokes. C'mon Suckah, surely you want more pussy....................puns. ^_^

PS: Sue doesn't like the thought of a dead pussy in the drains, as it eventually gets into the drinking water...pmsl@mscactus....as she won't drink any other than bottled water as it is.

Council may be able to help you with the cat trap situation.

Nup, they won't.

tried the rspca?

I haven't.. but I will today. Doubt they will be able to help. Can't see them encouraging cats being trapped.

I repeat, the Brisbane City Council will not do anything!

quote from their website, which mirrored the 2 phone conversations I had with them.

Council does not trap pet cats on private premises

I followed that up with so what our options, to which they replied the council won't do anything. To which I replied so what I have to find some cruel way to catch and or kill it, to which they replied "yeah if you want to get rid of it". Maybe I was ringing the wrong number, maybe you know a different number to ring that will get me someone who will rent/loan a cat trap. But I'm 0 from 2 with the BCC.

btw. I am all for a non killing option. But I am more for a non feral/stray cat around the house.

it's not encouraging cats to be trapped.. it's helping them to relocate them :).. or getting rid of them in a more civilised manner. the rspca is ment to help the strays/dumped etc in that respect, whether its to put them down.. or to find them a new home.

I was trying to encourage Furry Bear to put one of his favourite pussy pics in here this morning...although he overdid them in a thread once before and killed the thread completely.

Was there an outcome with the RSPCA today Obes?

My wifey didn't like the cat poking on the hanging mans foot, so I replaced it with the police dog instead.

RDO = Rostered Day Off.

I use my IT skills to work 4 days a week for a business that operates 24/7, and on my RDO's I run my own web development/hosting business. Therefore, whilst I am developing sites, I poke my nose into QGL looking for pussy threads for self-amusement. I hope that explains that question.

do what i do to possums, lure it in with food.. grab the f***ers tail, spin around a few times and throw like you've never thrown before... they shouldn't come back after that.... i call it possum throwing but it is a very adaptable sport.
