I need an air purifier for my bedroom. Dust and pollen is killing me.

Anyone got any good tips? I can't find anything useful on google!

Maybe try uncle Owen and see if he has any of those moisture vaporators he can lend you. Although they might be a bit too high to fit into a room.

My air filter costed me ~$300 secondhand (I think it was naerly $700 or so new).

I think it removes matter down to 0.3 microns, bit extreme but it's mainly to remove airborne spores and bacteria... probably a bit of an overkill for you.

I use a Sunbeam HEPA filter, the difference was amazing. Only thing is you need to replace the filter every now and then (6-12 months), and chances are you'll have to clean the filter after the first few days if you've never run a HEPA filter in the room before, because of the amount of crap it will initially pick up.

Previously all through spring I'd have terrible heyfever, now I only have problems once I get to work or when I step outside. My room however is like a clean room.

That's the one.

It's a bit big, but it gets the job done.

ahh so the filter just does the room it sits in. surely you'd have to a super clean room for it to be effective... n some sorta air-curtain or air-lock to stop new particles getting in? it'd never work at my old wooden colonial house... dust comes up through the floorboards. :P

i use a negative ion generator i made ages ago ... not coz i suffer from respiration issues... just coz i had the design, was in a position to get free pcbs manufactured & had all the bits. also my beefed up version doubles as a bug zapper... it may not be saftey compliant though. heh.

my old circuit...

n the pcb...

Go the HEPA filter, that's what mine is (mines an industrial/lab model though), they work beyond awesome.
